Day 01 - Wednesday
New York-Beijing (IM)

Board Air China CA 990 leaves JFK at 12:50pm. Cross the International Dateline and lose a day. You'll recover this day on your return trip.

Day 02 - Thursday   
Arrive Beijing (D)

Arrive in Beijing at 18:20. Meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. /Beijng Feitian Hotel.

Day 03 - Friday   
Beijing (B,L,D)

After breakfast you visit the Tiananmen Square. At 100 acres, it is the world's largest public square, flanked by an assortment of historical buildings, huge museums and Communist monuments, including Mao’s Mausoleum. You roam the Square; and walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, under the famed portrait of Chairman Mao, to enter the Forbidden City, the symbolic center of the Chinese universe and a lasing monument of dynastic China, from which 24 emperors of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties ruled the Middle Kingdom for nearly 500 years (1420-1911). In the afternoon, you tour the idyllic Summer Palace, once the summer retreat and playground for the imperial family and royal court during the late Qing Dynasty. Considered the finest Chinese imperial garden, the Summer Palace spans over 700 acres with breathtaking views, temples, pavilions, palaces and halls including the lavishly painted "Long Corridor". It is most associated, however, with the Empress Dowager Cixi who paid for the extravagant Marble Boat with funds meant for the modernization of the Imperial Navy.

Day 04 - Saturday 
Beijing-Xian (B,L,D)
Visit the Great Wall of China at the Badaling section. The wall was begun in the 5th century BC to keep out foreign invaders. Construction continued for centuries, eventually linking up the walls of the former independent kingdoms. The Great Wall meanders through China's northern mountain ranges from the Yellow Sea to the Gobi Desert — a distance of over 3500 miles! Visit Temple of Heaven. If time permits, take a photo stop at the "Bird Nest" and visit the exterior portion of this huge complex — the main stadium of 2008 Beijing Olympics. Day 05 - Sunday
Xian (B)

A whole day trip to see the 6,000 life-size Terra Cotta Warriors Museum which is the 8th Wonder of the World. In 1974, peasants were digging a well and uncovered what turned out to be the major archaeological discovery of the 20th century: an underground vault of earth and timber that eventually yielded thousands of life-sized terra cotta soldiers and their horses in battle formation. /Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.

Day 06 - Monday
Xain (B,L,D)

Visit Ancient City Wall. Xi’an is one of the few cities in China where old city walls are still visible. History Museum with classical Chinese style. It was opened in 1992. The collection is chronologically arranged and includes materials housed in the Provincial Museum, though many objects have never been on permanent display before.

Day 07 - Tuesday
Xian-Suzhou (B,L,D)

Fly to Shanghai airport and drive to Suzhou, called by Marco Polo the “Venice of the Orient” is a 2,500-year-old city renowned the world over for its traditional gardens, ancient canals and silk production. In 1997 Suzhou’s classic garden was designated an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Silk Spinning Mill, where you will learn how silk is created from the mulberry-munching silkworms to produce thread and fine cloth. Take a boat ride on the Grand Canal.

Day 08 - Wednesday
Suzhou-Shanghai (B,L,D)

You visit the Garden of the Master of Fishing Nets, which is considered by many, the finest of all Suzhou’s gardens. In the afternoon you travel by motor coach to Shanghai, China's largest and most dynamic city with a population of 18 million.

Day 09 - Thursday
Shanghai (B,L,D)

Your tour begins with a leisure walk along the waterfront promenade of the Bund, landmark of Shanghai. Afterwards, you visit People's Square and the Nanjing Road, the busiest shopping center in Shanghai. In the afternoon You visit Shanghai Museum, an unique and inspiring piece of architecture, home to more than 120,000 cultural relics of ancient China, including a priceless collection of jade, bronze, ceramics, paintings, furniture, etc. Then visit the heart of old Shanghai at the 16th century Yuyuan City Bazaar. After dinner, you attend an unforgettable performance of the Shanghai Acrobatic Show in the evening.

Day 10 - Friday
Shanghai-New York (B)
Be transferred to the airport for Air China CA 1858 from shanghai to Beijing (07:55-10:15) and change to CA 981 leaves beijng at 13:00 and arrive New York JFK at 14:20pm the same day.
